I wrote this a few weeks after Chuck Berry died. To my ears, and perhaps mine alone, it sounds like a postmodern “No Particular Place To Go.” At times, I’m singing it from the perspective of a young, entitled California surfer who is on the verge of questioning his taken-for-granted beliefs.
